1/72 LOCKHEED MARTIN® F-35®B LIGHTNING II®

Length: 215 mm. Image shows painted and assembled kit.

The F-35 Lightning II is an ambitious 5th Generation aircraft that aims to meet the needs of different U.S. service arms via three different variants, perhaps the most adventurous of which is the F-35B which combines extremely low observability and exceptional situational awareness with short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) capability facilitated by a lift fan positioned between the engine and cockpit, that lets it operate from smaller confines such as amphibious assault ships, light aircraft carriers and airfields with limited runway space. Its deployment is planned not only by the U.S. Marine Corps, but also by U.K. and Italian air arms. Get a close look at what makes this fascinating aircraft tick with our detailed and accurate model in the manageable 1/72 scale.
About the Model
This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 215mm, wingspan: 148mm. ★The extremely stealthy F-35B is recreated with great accuracy, including finely molded raised RAM sections. Choose whether to assemble the model as landed or hovering. ★The aircraft is depicted with the nozzle pointing downward, and various doors open. ★2 different sets of landing gear parts (compressed and extended) are included. ★AIM-9X and AIM-120C ordnance is included. ★Comes with a pilot figure, stand for a hovering F-35B model, and 5 marking options.
  • The model is depicted with lift fan and roll post doors open, and the engine nozzle pointed downwards.
  • The nozzle is depicted in great accuracy, while keeping the number of parts to a reasonable level. Its intricate moldings are a real highlight.
  • Unique sections such as the nozzle doors are of course depicted realistically.
  • Take a look at the detail achieved on the lift fan blades and even on the shaft cover visible from the open air intake doors.
  • The underside of the lift fan and nose landing gear bay details are another point of interest.
  • Using a single integrated piece including the arm for the lift fan vane doors ensures you recreate the correct door angle.
  • Weapons bay doors open slightly during vertical landings, and inside you can see AIM-120C air-to-air missiles.
  • Weapons bay doors also use one-piece arm parts for accurate, fuss-free assembly.
  • Note the extended landing gear on a hovering model. The display stand is included in the kit.
  • If the model is assembled as landed, different landing gear parts are used.
  • These are the weapons bays, with fine detail on their interiors recreated.
  • A comprehensive decal sheet has markings for 3 U.S. Marine Corps aircraft, as well as one each of British and Italian aircraft.
  • Masking stickers will help when painting the canopy and nose underside EOTS fairing.
  • A/B parts
  • C parts
  • H parts
